Example of the in-player latency readout
The LIVE pill is an example of the in-player latency readout.
Latency
Embedded web players keep a long buffer and fall well behind the broadcast. ONSET's native player uses Amazon IVS, which is built on the same video technology as Twitch, and keeps you close to the live edge.
The live edge is the newest moment of the broadcast. Everything behind it has already happened.
An embedded web player keeps a long buffer, so what you see trails the action.
A short buffer and a smooth catch-up whenever playback falls behind. The measured latency is shown in the player.
Illustration, not a benchmark. The app measures the real delay.

Illustration, not a benchmark. The delay you get depends on the stream and your network; ONSET measures the real delay and shows it live in the player.

No. ONSET is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch.
No. You can browse and watch while logged out. To chat or see the channels you follow, log in on Twitch's own login page; ONSET never sees your password.
Not by default. ONSET has no account system of its own, and crash reports and analytics stay off unless you turn them on. No ads, no data sold. To work, the app talks to Twitch, the emote services, and a few other services; the privacy policy lists exactly what each one receives.
After that, ONSET offers updates inside the app.
